Andre Garcia is a Mexican-American filmmaker from Dickinson, Texas. His first exposure to film was watching The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course (2002), but he doesn’t remember it on account of being a month old. His time in the Houston suburbs led him to New York University (‘24), graduating with a BFA in film and an apartment in Brooklyn.
His work specializes in the anxieties wrought by the mundane, the humor carried through despair, and the surreal feelings you recognize but can’t put a word to. His previous work has screened at SXSW and the Houston Latino Film Festival. Outside of work, he enjoys applying to jobs and never getting them ever.
